April 2023 Long Term Care Needs: Long term care needs are finally being recognized on the federal level. President Biden has announced executive actions to address long term care as well as childcare needs. This gives me hope that we will see improvements in caregiving services and availability. There are currently not enough resources to allow folks who need care to receive services at home forcing many to enter nursing homes. This is partially due to a shortage of workers as well as limited programs which provide care at home.
